Thanks for your call today

I can state that we intend to pay for the travel and accommodation for the PM coming to the UK for the Project Kick off meeting also we are also making arrangement for someone to come over for some couple of weeks to observe and work with the team.

Considerations

  1. The Platform Fall back procedure when there is no reception to make an online payment (very important)
  2. The Platform capability to send messages to clients and tradesmen alike including promo messages etc
  3. App functionality useage offline ie without internet connectivity
  4. Ability to have a robust platform that can turn on and off various functionality based on our choice.

Project Overview and Consultant Work Plan

Thanks for your Skype call today

Based on our discussion, I will explain briefly what we are trying to achieve.

We are Epistorm Ltd and in the next phase of our company expansion, we are looking to incorporate real life training and work experience for our candidates by working on real life projects. The projects will be strictly digital projects which can range from a typical website to CMS/CRM capability ( I will require your input how we can decompose and add more functionality to the projects).

We have some clients who either want to enhance customer experience on their websites or create unique functionality/ capability for their products so what we have fashioned out is

  1. Depending on Candidate Appetite (To Run 2 Simultaneous Projects using Agile and Waterfall) by using Feature Based Releases or Subsets. What this mean is that for instance in a CMS Project you have License, Support, System Requirements, Content Management, Development Standards etc. Each one of these Features can be developed and are not dependent on each other in terms of build or releases. So by putting our candidates on each project on a sub function we then build and develop the functionality for our client.

  1. Each Candidate will have rotating roles in terms of having to work very closely with the team during the build ie in an Agile Environment I will have a BA Work Closely with a QA during the build . Here i will expect all the standard QA Reports ie test plan , test strategy etc to be created. This will be also be the case for developers as well.

  1. We will hope to run these as a standard project ie if working as a Scrum Team there might be daily standups with as per normal etc. when there are need for workshops we will need to make this available too. If in Waterfall then we will do the same similar to what we will expect in a PRINCE2 environment . Kindly note , this maybe light touch and not really very heavy on the principles mentioned .

  1. There will be 3months, 6month and 12 months varying releases for the projects, features or releases for our candidates but in this case we have 18 weeks =4.5 – 5months (3 MVP Releases ie every 4weeks) 2-4 weeks for stability

  1. This will have the option to run full time or part time for our candidates ie daily stand up will be for 15 mins very early in the morning for uk time at 6.30am GMT =11am IST

I will require different suggestions as to how we can manage these projects overviews because of its simplicity in approach, it might yet be challenging in terms of allocating time and effort to it. A quick response will be appreciated as i am trying to set up the candidate workstreams as well.

Candidate/Consultant Project Roles

I am not sure I have said this before but what we are looking to do with the students/candidates is quite simple . We have 8/9 Roles namely :

1  BA- PA****

  1. BA- PO ***
  2. BA- SM (ScrumMaster)*****
  3. BA- QA
  4. BA- CONTENT
  5. BA- DEV
  6. BA- UI/UX
  7. BA- PM
  8. BA- PMO****
  9. BA- BA

All these roles will be what the candidates will do on a weekly basis and change from one role to the other . eg By being like kind of a proxy BA-Dev, The BA will work with the Dev for the week to know the intricacies of the development process and by so doing he will understand better how a dev and ba work on a project like in the real work place. the level of technicality he will need to understand the system will need to be agreed but all in all , at the end of the week he will be able to explain and document what he has learnt and the PM will now grade the work.

So all in all the Students will rotate round all the roles in the space of 4- 6 weeks in 3 batches = 18weeks and by then the project phase 1 or MVP3 should have been completed or completely done.

The PM will set tasks , approve it et all. even the candidates will have project email addresses for their uses. WebEx chats or forums – I know Jira has this not sure of Zoho. We will be using Flinto app for demo 9 or if you have a better one)

Slack for comms and updates

The time of work will include all the traditional and agile ceremonies and start time will be between the uk working hours which will be extended hours for you

Whilst this is going on , the PM will be managing the project proper with delivery dates

This is just the first pass of how we intend to set up

Is this clear?

Let me have your thoughts

Project Features

I have sent you an excel sheet  and in that excel sheet if you look at tab1 (R1) here i need you to make comparison between your initial draft analysis and that list. I will still stick to what you suggested in Tab(Team Setup line 13-17) .

So there is a lot to consider and ponder about and we need clarity and final draft written up by end of friday so we can start work in earnest and i must stress i need to see the PM Scheme of work for the Trainee Consultant and how they will work with the your team on the knowledge sharing

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
Ade
